Jewellers create functional items of jewellery as well as artistic design pieces.

Jewellery Designers are trained professionals who use a variety of materials, such as precious metals, gems, stones and crystals, to create decorative accessories for the ears, neck, hands, fingers, feet and toes. Jewellery design requires a lot of creativity, imagination and technical knowledge. They also undertake all manner of jewellery repairs.

WorldSkills Australia Competition Jewellery, participants will be assessed on their ability to manufacture Jewellery using a wide range of techniques and materials, including metals, stones, woods, plastics and fibres.
