Structural Steel Construction workers assemble rigging gear to move and position equipment and structural components, erect scaffolding, position and secure steel reinforcing in concrete forms, and erect and dismantle structural steel frames.

Construction Steel work involves marking out, cutting, assembling, repairing and maintaining steel structures such as buildings and bridges using heavy plant and lifting equipment and a range of welding processes. These professionals must be able to fabricate small to large structures and check them for correct dimensions, square, parallel, and flatness.

The WorldSkills Australia Construction Steel Competition tests the skills and knowledge of Construction workers whilst producing products that comply with relevant industry standards.
